Graphic designers—or graphic artists—plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems. They decide the most effective way of getting a message across in print, electronic, and film media using a variety of methods such as color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques. Graphic designers develop the overall layout and production design of magazines, newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other publications.
In ensuring our graphic designers deliver on a clients design brief we follow a simple four step process. - Contractual Clarity: We believe it is important that our services are clearly defined in writing to ensure all parties expectations are the same. As such, in our pricing schedule, we will define what will be delivered, the time-scale and cost. Any item outside the pricing schedule is considered out-of-scope, subject to revision.
- Know the client: The first step in developing a new graphic design is to determine the needs of the client, the message the design should portray, and its appeal to customers or users. We consider cognitive, cultural, physical, and social factors in planning and executing designs for the target audience. We gather relevant information by meeting with clients and by performing their own research.
- Know the clients consumer: Identifying the needs of consumers is becoming increasingly important for graphic designers as the scope of their work continues to focus on creating corporate communication strategies in addition to technical design and layout work. As with the client, it is important to understand the needs and expectations of the audience and/or user.
- The design output: We will deliver up to 6 variations at the conceptulisation stage. From here the final corrections are made to the design layout resulting in a final design for approval. For this project, it is at this stage that all copy and images for use in the final style guide will need to be supplied.
